Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Sarawak State Library) in collaboration with the Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA will host the Sarawak Librarian Colloquium 2025 (SAL.co 2025) from 13 to 16 October 2025 (9.00am to 12pm) GMT +8 via Zoom Meets, Pustaka YouTube Channel and Pustaka Social Media Platform.
This year theme "Empowering Communities: Libraries and Archives as Catalysts for Sustainability, Innovation, and Inclusivity in the Digital Age" highlights the critical role these institutions play in strengthening communities by providing access to information, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering social inclusion. Libraries and archives serve as vital hubs for education, digital literacy, and lifelong learning, offering resources, technology, and training to bridge gaps and promote equity. This is particularly important in regions where internet connectivity and technological infrastructure present significant challenges. They also preserve historical records and artifacts, ensuring cultural identity is maintained for future generations. Through community engagement, inclusive programming, and partnerships with local organizations, libraries, and archives create safe, supportive spaces that empower individuals, promote diversity, and build resilient, informed communities.
Selected papers presented at SAL.co 2025 will be published in the Journal of Information and Knowledge Management (JIKM) in October 2025 (Special Edition).
