BACKGROUND

Pustaka has been honored and entrusted by the YAB Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Abang Haji Openg to lead the awareness and advocacy initiatives of the government of Sarawak in line with SDG of the United Nations in February 2021. This trust is detailed out and approved by the YAB Premier of Sarawak in April 2021 implemented through working collaboratively in sustainable thinking with all entities such as government and private sectors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community leaders, students, and the public on their respective responsibilities towards SDG.
At Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, we firmly believe in the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive positive change. As part of our commitment to SDGs advocacy and awareness program, we have collaborated with Emerald Publishing, World Catalyst Research Network, and the Management and Science University (MSU) to organize a series of Sustainable Sarawak Webinars aimed at fostering dialogues, raising awareness, and exploring innovative solutions to the pressing global challenges.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To raise awareness and promote a deeper understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  2. To facilitate collaboration and networking among diverse stakeholders committed to advancing the SDGs.
  3. To showcase and disseminate best practices and success stories from around the world related to SDG implementation.

THEME

Sustainable Sarawak Webinar Series 1 : Empowering Underserved Communities: Digital Health Literacy, Economic Integration, and AI Equity in Pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals

Objectives

  1. Delve into the concept of "Digital Health Literacy Uplift" and understand how innovative strategies, including interactive games and smart agents, serve the essential needs of under-served communities.
  2. Understand the integration of digital health economics, using insights from Norway's journey, and its implications for sustainable health strategies.
  3. Analyze the interplay between AI solutions in digital health and their impact on equity issues, with a focus on the broader context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sustainable Sarawak Webinar Series 2 : Creating Age friendly Learning Environments: Best Practices, Innovations, and Supporting the SDGs

Objectives

  1. Examine the characteristics of age-friendly environments that support the SDGs.
  2. Analyze best practices and innovative approaches to creating learning spaces for older adults that contributes to sustainable development.
  3. Identify the potential benefits of age-friendly learning environments for promoting lifelong learning, enhancing the quality of life, and supporting the SDGs
