Answer: Depression in children might look different than it does in adults. And it might look different for each child. Signs and symptoms of depression in a child include:

1. Mood changes. Your child might seem sadder or more irritable than usual, and they feel this way most of the time.
2. Lack of interest in fun activities.
3. Low energy levels or general tiredness.
4. Negative self-talk or low self-esteem. You might hear your child say negative things about themselves. 5. They may feel worthless.
6. Eating more or less than usual.
7. Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much.
