KUCHING – A Bibliotherapy Workshop and Children will be held at the level one seminar room of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak here this 12 to 13 April, 8.30am to 4.30pm each day.
The workshop will be conducted by Puan Rafidah Abdul Aziz, a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Information Management, UiTM Shah Alam.
This workshop aims to introduce bibliotherapy as a method of intervention to solve problems and difficulties in dealing with disorders behaviour among children by using children`s literature materials that are available in the library.
Bibliotherapy among children may be considered as new in Malaysia but it is no longer new in western countries.
As such, it is important that the library and the librarian can assist in recovering the spirit of these children in order to create a competitive, healthy generation and that every people will have the opportunity to move forward.
The library will act as books pharmacy and the librarians as pharmacist who will then suggest suitable books for the workshop.
Meanwhile, the public are also invited to attend a talk entitled `Do You Have the Blood of A Hero` by Dr. Mohammad Masrin bin Md Zahrin at the level one auditorium of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak on Friday, 15 April 2016, 2.30pm.
