Posted on 22 April 2016
KUCHING: The State Library will be holding a Let`s Read Together for 10 Minutes programme in its auditorium in conjunction with the World Book Day and Copyright Day 2016 on April 2015.
This is the third year the programme is conducted nationwide. This programme first held in 2014 is designd to get as much participation as possible from all walks of the community for a reading culture through reading for just 10 minutes.
This is also to support all state public libraries and government agencies in their efforts to promote the reading culture among the community.
In 2015, the same programme was held for the first time in collaboration with all the Council of Directors for Public Libraries of Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, State Secretary Office, state government agencies and statutory bodies, public libraries, universities and schools as well as interested public and private entities.
This year, every public library in Malaysia will once again organise this programme concurrently nationwide from 11am to 11.10am on Monday (April 25).
On that day it is hoped that everyone will set aside whatever they are doing to simultaneously read a book of their choice for just 10 minutes.
Everyone can participate by uploading their photos and use hash tag #lanbaca2016 either on their Facebook, Instagram or Twitter respectively.
