Knowledge Camp Is Back In Pustaka Miri

MIRI – The annual Pustaka Miri’s Knowledge
Camp
is back for the second time this year and to be held from 25th
to 26th July 2009.



 



The event,
which has been held every year since 2004, is opened to Form 4 and 5 students.
It is, however, limited to 30 participants.



 



It will be
filled with fun yet educational activities that teach the participants about
teamwork, creativity, public speaking, knowledge seeking and sharing as well as
self-motivation.



 



Last
April, the first Knowledge Camp this year was attended by 30 pupils from
Primary 5 and 6. It was the first time ever for Pustaka Miri to organize such
activity for primary school pupils.



 



Meanwhile,
there are also several public talks and activities which have and will be held
this month. Early July saw a family art workshop with famous artist Yusuf
‘Gajah’, Blood Donation Drive, a health talk on ‘Oral Care: Healthy Teeth,
Attractive Smile
’ and a slideshow on ‘Astronomy: A Date with the Stars’.



 



Upcoming
activities include Talk on ‘Online Behaviour - Impact of Cyberculture on
Netizen’

of Technology Sarawak Campus’  lecturer
Goi Chai Lee, Portrait Drawing Workshop with Institut Perguruan
Sarawak’s arts lecturer Meges Laoi on 16th July 2009 and Tips
on Creative Writing for Students
Workshop with Society of
English Writers Northern Zone Sarawak (SOSWE)’s Florence Enau on 18th
July 2009.



 



Another
talk is on ‘Israk Mikraj’ on 20th July 2009 which will
be facilitated by Ustaz Mohd. Supian Bujang, an officer from Jabatan Agama
Islam Sarawak (JAIS) and the last talk for the month is on 28th July
2009 which is by En. Awang @Musran Tawil - Senior Assistant Vice President of
Bank Muamalat, who will touch on the topic of ‘Financial Management and
Debt Handling’
.
