Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Signs MoU on Bishop Galvin Ethnographic Archive

6 January 2026, KUCHING - Pustaka Negeri Sarawak has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Catholic Diocese of Miri to preserve and digitise the Bishop Galvin Ethnographic Archive.

Friends of Sarawak Museum (FoSM) welcomes this initiative and is exploring ways for its members to volunteer in supporting the digitisation efforts, in collaboration with Pustaka, subject to formal arrangements. This partnership seeks to ensure public access to the archive while preserving its original manuscripts, in line with FoSM’s mission to promote appreciation and understanding of Sarawak’s heritage.

The MoU was signed by Tuan Haji Japri bin Bujang Masli, Chief Executive Officer of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, and Bishop Richard Ng, and witnessed by Encik Wan Mazli bin Wan Razali, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations & Depository) of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, and Dr. Louise Macul, Museologist and Founder of Friends of Sarawak Museum.

The ceremony was held at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak.
