Summary
This book tackles one of the hardest yet most necessary aspects of childhood — sexuality and protection from abuse. What struck me is how powerfully it combines research with practical strategies, showing that silence and taboo do more harm than good. In Malaysia, where talking about sex often feels uncomfortable in families and schools, the book felt especially relevant. It reminded me that true safeguarding goes beyond teaching children to refuse or say “no”; it requires adults to change their own attitudes, break the silence, build channels of trust, and actively create safer environments in homes, classrooms, and communities.
