Kuching– Pustaka Negeri Sarawak’s Lincoln Corner together
with the US Embassy, Kuala Lumpur is organising a Lincoln Corner Talk on
‘Climate Change and Indigenous People: A Filmmaker’s Perspective’at its Seminar
Room, Level 1, on Wednesday at 2.30pm.
The talk will be delivered by American filmmaker Lawrence
Johnson. Lawrence has long been documenting the cultural evolution of Native
people in North America and elsewhere as they respond to environmental threats
and cultural pressures.He will discuss his method film making methodology in a
talk illustrated with many clips from his work.He hopes to motivate and inspire
local Sarawak filmmakers to look at these problems in Borneo, one of the
world’s great treasure troves of wildlife and indigenous culture.
