The Kill Order is an intriguing prequel to The Maze Runner movie series, providing a deeper understanding of how the Flare virus started and led to the collapse of society. As someone who has watched the movies, I found it interesting to learn about the origins of the virus and the world before the events in the films. However, the book feels a bit different from the movies. While the films focus on the mystery of the Maze and the Gladers, The Kill Order centers more on survival in a post-apocalyptic world. The characters, Mark and Trina, didn’t connect with me as much as Thomas and the other Gladers from the movies.
Though it doesn’t have the same level of action or emotional depth as the films, The Kill Order is still a valuable read for fans who are curious about the backstory behind the events of The Maze Runner. It adds context to the universe, but it might not be as exciting or compelling as the movies themselves.
