Aram Kitai Becerita! - Ja Ata Bidunan! - Jo Kita Bitanun! - Jom Telo Berceritah! - Marih Tauh Ningar Sekunuh! - Ayok Dewe Cerito!
The Sarawak Folktale Writing Competition, whcih was formerly called the Sarawak Folktales Competition, was an initiative of Warisan Global Sdn. Bhd. (Warisan) in its effort to assist the preservation of local culture and language in Sarawak through the usage of information and communications technology (ICT). It was also a continuation program for the 43 participants of the IT2U training program from libraries in Sarawak which was held in November 2005. The IT2U program was designed to introduce and train the attendants of selected public libraries in basic ICT skills. The effort was part of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak’s (Pustaka) effort in bridging the digital divide between the rural and urban communities; and turning the public libraries into community knowledge centres.
Objectives
The main objectives of this project were
a) To promote the use of ICT in the preservation of local cultures and languages
b) To enrich the local contents via the collection of local folktales
c) To promote the community engagement in educational activities and programs

Terms and Conditions
- Pertandingan ini terbuka kepada semua ahli perpustakaan awam di negeri Sarawak.
- Penyertaan pertandingan adalah berpasukan dengan bilangan ahli kumpulan di antara 2 – 10 orang. Tiada had umur untuk ahli kumpulan.
- Setiap kumpulan perlu menghantar sekurang – kurangnya 2 cerita rakyat.
- Setiap cerita hendaklah dipilih dari genre cerita rakyat / kisah dongeng yang berasal dari sesuatu tempat. Anda juga boleh mengumpul cerita – cerita rakyat dari komuniti anda sendiri.
- Setiap cerita mestilah sekurang – kurangnya 500 patah perkataan dan tidak boleh melebihi 5000 patah perkataan.
- Cerita tersebut hendaklah yang asli/original, ditulis oleh ahli kumpulan anda sendiri dan ianya tidak pernah diterbitkan di mana-mana bahan bacaan.
- Cerita yang disediakan hendaklah di dalam dua bahasa iaitu: Bahasa asal / Ibunda dan terjemahannya di dalam Bahasa Melayu atau Bahasa Inggeris.
- Cerita yang hendak dipertandingkan perlu di serahkan dalam bentuk buku skrap yang dilengkapi dengan ilustrasi sokongan berkaitan cerita pada luar dan dalam buku tersebut.
- Penyediaan buku skrap dengan bantuan alatan ICT adalah amat digalakkan. Sila sertakan cakera padat atau disket yang mengandungi fail-fail hasil kerja anda bersama buku skrap, jika ada.
- Buku skrap (dan cakera padat atau disket-rujuk peraturan 10, jika ada) yang telah lengkap hendaklah dikepilkan dengan borang rasmi pertandingan dan di masukkan ke dalam sampul surat yang bersesuaian.
- Penyertaan lengkap mesti sampai kepada pejabat Urus Setia Pertandingan atau mana-mana perpustakaan awam Negeri Sarawak sebelum tarikh tutup 31 Ogos 2006.
- Setiap penyertaan akan menjadi hak milik mutlak pihak penganjur.
- Pihak penganjur mempunyai hak untuk menolak penyertaan jika ianya mempunyai unsur – unsur sensitif seperti keganasan, diskriminasi dan politik.
- Keputusan hakim adalah muktamad. Pemenang akan dimaklumkan melalui panggilan telefon, surat dan emel.

Hugh participation with 35 teams submitting 51 stories in 9 different indigenous Sarawak languages. 2 entries did not fulfilled the minimum requirements and were not selected for final assessment by the panel of judges.

The judges comprising language experts as well as representatives of the organisers had a difficult time deliberating on the entries and finally came to a consensus on the winning entries.
