This program was an initiative of Pustaka in developing reading habits amongst the communities in Sarawak. It was initiated in 2008 and open to everyone who lived in Sarawak.
Categories
This challenge was divided into 4 categories
a) Kindergarten Category for participants in the age range of 4 - 6 years old
b) Primary School Category for participants in the age range of 7- 12 years old
c) Secondary School Category for participants in the age range of 13 - 18 years old
d) Adult Category for participants aged 19 years old and above
Handling of Program
Kindergartens and school were invited via letters and promotional posters, while members of the public were invited to participate via web advertisement and posters. Participant who could prove that he had read at least a book a month would be awarded certificate of participation and given gifts by the Sarawak State Government.

a) Participants must be domiciled in Sarawak

- Not less than 5 pages for Kindergarten Category
- Not less than 15 pages for Primary School Category
- Not less than 50 pages for Secondary School Category
- Not less than 100 pages for Adult Category

Restructuring
The program was restructured and renamed Tower of Book Challenge in 2012.
