Japri Bujang Masli was born in Kuching in 1967. He attended Sekolah Rendah Kerajaan Semariang, Sekolah Menengah Tunku Abdul Rahman and later Kolej Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah. After that he joined Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia doing Bachelor of Science in Genetics. He did his Post Graduate Diploma in Library Science at Institut Teknologi Mara, Jalan Othman, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. In 2000 he attended Effective Library Information Systems professional course at the University of Manchester, UK.

In 1994 he joined Institut Teknologi Mara, Semariang as Assistant Library Officer (S5) and responsible in the implementation of Sistem Perpustakaan Berkomputer (SISPUKOM).

Education


He attended primary educatioan at SK Semariang in 1974. After that he attended SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman for his lower secondary education and proceeded into Kolej Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah in the year 1983-1984.
He holds a BSc. in Genetics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Post Graduate Diploma in Library Science from Institut Teknologi Mara. He also attended the University of Manchester for a certificate in Effective Library Information Systems.

Career


His first position in the civil service was as Penolong Pegawai Perpustakaan at Institut Teknologi Mara, Semariang Campus in 1994. In 1996 he joined Universiti Malaysia Sarawak as a Librarian. In November 1999 he joined Pustaka Negeri Sarawak until now.
