Introduction
Pustaka is always intensifying efforts towards the preservation and conservation of indigenous knowledge, culture and Sarawak’s history. Sarawakiana Talk is one of our regular program in providing information and knowledge to the general public on the new knowledge on documentary heritage.
Objectives
1. To encourage reading, writing and research of Sarawak's history among students and the public as well as researchers in generating the new knowledge; and
2. To enhance the knowledge and writing culture of the community in documentary heritage.
Procedure in Preparing Sarawakiana Talk
1. Selection
The selection for the topic is based on :
- New topic research on Sarawak's heritage or history, and
- Request by the researcher or speaker on their new writing and research about Sarawak.
2. Submission of the proposal
Once the selection on the topic is done, the speaker shall submit the proposal on their research or topic including the abstract on their talk to get approval from the Management.
3. Preparation
Once the Management had been approved, the designated officer (DO) shall contact the speaker and set a date for the talk. The DO shall send an invitation letter to the speaker with the confirmation form, consent form and requirement form in preparing the talk such as ICT or logistic requirement for the DO's actions. Then, the DO shall prepare poster, press release or write-up and others for promotion as well as refreshment and invitation letter to participant.
4. Documentation
Once the talk session is done, the speaker shall submit all the documentation on the talk including slides, notes, video, photo and others. This documentation shall be compiled, catalogue and ready to use as reference at the library.
The DO shall write a report to Head of Unit via email.
The speaker shall given an honorarium as a token.
