Identification Process

Based on the functions of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, the main business processes, also called the knowledge domains where the knowledge exits, are determined. The sub processes, also termed called the knowledge assets, are then identify from each main business process.

By studying the activities, results and outcomes associated with the sub processes, the actual sources of knowledge are identified. Most common sources of knowledge are undocumented process, documented standard operating procedures and guidelines, reports and lessons learned and the actual person executing the work. Once these sources are identified, they are categorised into tacit or explicit knowledge. For each type of knowledge, the methods of capture are determined.
