The Sibu Municipal Council Public Library or Sibu Public Library is managed by the Sibu Municipal Council to cater for the information needs of the communities in Sibu Town and it sub-urban areas.
Brief History
The Library originated from a Methodist Missionary Library in early 1950s. It was taken over by Sibu Urban District Council (SUDC) in 1955. From 1962 to 1985 it was located at the former SUDC (now SMC) town hall at Jalan Wong Nai Siong. In 1986, the library was moved to its present building.
