Hayati hails from Kampung Dagang, Marudi, Baram, Sarawak. She is of   mix of Malay and Chinese. She had her primary education at ''Sekolah Rendah Kerajaan Datuk Sharif Hamid'' before continuing her secondary education in West Malaysia (Kedah & Selangor) under the Sarawak Foundation Exchange Students programme. She graduated with a Diploma in Library Science from Institute Technology MARA (now University Technology MARA). After a stint of working at Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara she further her studies after taking leave and Graduated from University of Strathclyde in Masters of Science in Information and Library Studies in 1997.

HAYATI HAJI SABIL

Hayati hails from Kampung Dagang, Marudi, Baram, Sarawak. She is of mix Malay and Chinese origin. She had her primary education at Sekolah Rendah Kerajaan Datuk Sharif Hamid before continuing her secondary education in West Malaysia (Kedah & Selangor) under the Sarawak Foundation Exchange Students programme.
