Pustaka’s Research Committee (hereinafter called “the Committee”) will initiate and respond to the Board of Management of Pustaka (hereinafter called “the Board”) to develop and administer policies, procedures and strategies that will promote high quality research conducted by or on behalf of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (hereinafter called “Pustaka”) or the Sarawak State library.

Roles

a)To advise and respond to the Board on:

1) the development of research-related policies and the operation of those policies in accordance with Pustaka’s research plan; and
2) the development and presentation of staff training seminars on research-related policies.

b) To provide regular reports to the Board on all matters related to research conducted by or on behalf of Pustaka.
c) To initiate, review and monitor compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
d) To receive requests and act on issues which come from the Board for consideration.
e) To provide regular reports to the Board on the progress of the implementation of all matters delegated to it by the Board.

Membership

a) Chairman appointed by the Board (Chairperson)
b) Member of the Board (Member)
c) Chief Executive Officer, Pustaka (Member)
d) Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations), Pustaka (Member)
e) Head of Innovation and Sustainability Division, Pustaka shall be the Secretariat to the Committee
f) Other individuals, independent of part of organisations, whose inputs and contributions the Committee deem necessary and required (Member)

Frequency of Meeting

The Committee shall meet at least twice a year.

Review


The Committee shall review its membership, procedures guidelines and other related matters as it deems necessary.

Management of Research


A proposed research shall be managed and administer via the Research Management Guidelines.
