The Gift & Exchange Program is the management of requisition, acquisition, and cataloging gifts and donation materials such as annual reports, serials (bulletins, journals), and non-book materials (conference CD/VCD/DVD). This initiative develop through requisition and donation from government agencies, organizations, NGOs, publics and individuals.

Definition

Gifts are library materials that are obtained free of charge. Gifts may be in any format. They may be solicited or unsolicited. Exchanges are library materials obtained through cooperative institutional agreements between Pustaka Negeri Sarawak and other libraries, universities or research institutes. Exchange agreements can also result in groups of periodicals, a mix of serials and monographs, or subscriptions or groups of monographs being purchased for the exchange partner.

Selection of Gift and Exchange material

Gifts of materials will be accepted with the understanding that they will be subjected to the same criteria for inclusion in the collection as purchased materials.
