Introduction

Rayson Clinsmund anak Jensonray is a Bidayuh who was born on 11th July 1995 and raised in Penrissen area, Kuching Sarawak. His father is a Bidayuh who speak in the dialect of Bidayuh Bisitang[3] and his mother is an Iban Chinese from Kota Samarahan. He was the eldest of the three siblings in the family. He had been offered to joined Sarawak State Library[4]as Assistant Librarians, S29 on 1st November 2021 and being appointed as a head of Reference Unit in Information Services Division, Sibu.

He is a person who interested in discovering history, philosophy, mythology, cultural, nature and music. When he was attached in the Reference Unit, this becomes something very gratifying for him as he can be a mediator to the users in the library to explore this boundless world of knowledge. Besides, Rayson is someone with a very high level of empathy. This has led him to involves hand in hand with several organizations that focus on community service.

2. Sustainability Programme Associate at Solidaridad Network[7] (January 2021 - October 2021)

  • Conduct field visits on regular basis to provide support and execute the project at field and manage the day-to- day field operations in coordination with stakeholders to ensure timely implementation of project plans

Rayson is also involved in musical activities and he is a bass player in his band. Besides bass instrument, he also play sape, guitar, percussion, harmonica and violin

  3. The Bisitang community is a minority sub-group of the Bidayuh ethnic group in Sarawak who reside in the Penrissen Area.

  7. The Solidaridad Network is an international civil society organisation founded in 1969. Its main objective is facilitating the development of socially responsible, ecologically sound and profitable supply chains.   8. The Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) is part of an International Adventist Network of some 600 not-for-profit hospitals, clinics and dispensaries worldwide.   9. NI-SCOPS have been developed in Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Ghana, in close collaboration with the countries’ governments.   19. Senoi Praaq was a special unit of the Royal Malaysia Police made up entirely of Orang Asli. Senoi Praaq means ‘the people who fight’ in the Semai language. The Orang Asli’s special skills as trackers in the jungle made them invaluable to the Royal Malaysia Police.
