Quality Initiatives and Programs
The Library has been actively involved in improving processes and procedures in order to ensure better service delivery every time. Several quality initiatives have been introduced and implemented as our strategy to remain responsive to the needs of our customers and the community. Among the quality initiatives done in 2010 until 2014 include the following:-The Library's Quality Journey
Innovative and Creative Circle (ICC)
ICC refers to a small working group specifically among the support group who meet regularly to discuss and find solutions to any work-related problems. The group not only comes up with solutions but also creative measures or even new inventions to help improve the work processes. In 2001, Pustaka started with only one group which was then called Quality Control Circle (QCC). In 2007, 8 ICC groups were formed. These groups actively participated in in-house mini conventions, zone level ICC conventions organized by Malaysia Productivity Council (MPC) and the state government as well as national level conventions.
Pustaka has since received various accolades. Pustaka emerged as the champion at the State Level ICC Convection for the State Civil Service in 2013 for a project called e-Sarawak Gazette which also won the championship at the national level, at the 5th Malaysian ICC Convention for libraries in October 2014.
Key Focus Activity (KFA)
KFA is yet another quality initiative introduced by the former State Secretary, YB Tan Sri Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani. It was launched on 24th November, 2009 in conjunction with the State Civil Service Day. KFA refers to the development, evaluation and continual improvement of existing processes, systems and procedures including new development models and policies to ensure efficient and effective service delivery of projects and programmes under the RMK-10, Sarawak Corridor of Renewal Energy (SCORE) as well as National Key Result Area (NKRA).
Continual Improvement Program(CIP)
A continual improvement program or CIP is a planned process to improve or enhance services, products or processes. It is core part of the quality management system in Pustaka
