SARAWAK AUTHORS FESTIVAL
Introduction
A literary festival, also known as a book festival or writers' or author’ festivalis a regular gathering of writers and readers, typically organized on an annual or bi-annual basis in a particular city. There are many Literary festivals held around the world and the list is exhaustive
The Sarawak Authors Festival was organised by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak since 2017 had feature a variety of presentations and readings by authors, as well as other events, over a three day period, with the primary objectives of promoting and fostering writing among book authors.
Pustaka Negeri Sarawak will be organizing Sarawak Authors Festival 2018 on 17 - 21 October this year, for the second time with the theme ‘creative thinking in writing’. This upcoming event will feature a variety of writing workshop, presentations and readings by authors, as well as other events, over a four day period, with the primary objectives to encourage creativity in writing among local writers and preserving the literary heritage of the state.
Objectives
1. To encourage creativity and quality publication activities in the state.
2. To preserve literary heritage and provide access to local authors and local publications to a global audience.
3. To provide a program of events which engages and inspires the interest of the community in many forms of the written word.
4. To build a public arena for the promotion and presentation of local and regional writing.
5. To create new opportunities for social and cultural interaction.
6. To promote Sarawak’s authors.
7. To promote and encourage Sarawak authors to register on the Sarawak Authors Homepage

1. Students (kindergarten, primary, secondary, high institution/ universities, Maktab Perguruan), teachers, librarians and young lecturers)
