ICT Sector
The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Sector was one of the Sectors in Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Pustaka). It supported the business functions and core activities of the Corporate Management Sector, Library Services Sector, Depository Services Sector, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Sibu, the Innovation and Sustainability Division, the Internal Audit Division and the Corporate Secretary. It was called the ICT Division until 2007 when it was upgraded to a Sector in Pustaka. On 1 May 2022, it was restructured and renamed Pustaka Institute.
Main Functions
The core functions of the ICT Sector were
a) Managing Pustaka´s ICT system
b) Providing ICT operation, support and backup services for Pustaka
c) Developing, implementing, enhancing and maintaining Pustaka´s and other web sites
d) Assessing, evaluating and reengineering Pustaka´s ICT system
e) Maintaining, enhancing and upgrading Pustaka´s and other libraries' ICT systems
f) Conducting Research and development relating to library ICT systems
g) Coordinating ICT projects (Library development)

The ICT Sector currently had 3 main divisions
- The ICT Infrastructure Division headed by Puspa Diana Jawi
- The Website and Web Applications Development Division headed by Musa Ayub Abd Rahman

Completed and Commissioned Application System
These are application system developed in-house for internal use only
- e-TerbitS The main objective of this system is to enable Sarawak State Library to grant and approve International Standard Book Number (ISBN) application through an online system. This is done under the grant by the National Library of Malaysia as the sole agency to control the production of international standard numbers in Malaysia
- e-KNOWBASE e-KNOWBASE allows members of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak to search the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) and those enquiries which may be of help to others. The Pustaka’s Reference Librarian have been collecting the most FAQs that is related with Pustaka’s services.
- e-Preservation The record preservation process is the most important element in the entire records and archive conservation operation. The purpose of preservation of archival records is to extend the life of the use of the archival materials for research purposes. Archiving of archive materials is to reduce the risk of damage and slow down records impairment.
