Human Capacity Development from 2000 - 2014

[1]Professionalism is stressed at all levels in Pustaka. Hence, staff development and human capital have always been given priority to achieve its strategic objectives. Continuous training and exposure are given to the staff in a fast changing technology environment to prepare them for future growth and diversification. Apart from formal training, mentoring is also practised. Under the operation grant, the staff training allocation is about 1.5% to 2% of the total budget for the Library, at about RM 250,000.00 a year. Pustaka also receives funds under the Development budget. A big portion of the budget has always been used for upgrading job-related skills in the form of corporate training, benchmarking visits, conferences, seminars, workshops and attachments. From 2000 until 2014, Pustaka spent about RM 1.6 million for corporate trainings, and these included benchmarking visits, conferences, seminars, workshops and attachments. This investment in talent has clearly enhanced and increased staff capacity in the Library.
