American Corner Kuching

The American Corner Kuching is a space for educational learning, creative thinking and dialogue. It is locate don the ground floor of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Pustaka) building, adjacent to the Makerspace@Pustaka. It was previously named the Lincoln Corner after the 16th US president, Abraham Lincoln, who was an avid reader. The Corner is financially supported by the United States Embassy, Kuala Lumpur and managed by Pustaka.

Collection

The corner is well-equipped with information resources such as books, magazines, DVDs and online databases. , All these resources are available to the public any the library is open, without any charge. Currently thera are about 8,000 printed books, 30 printed magazines, 200 DVDs and 5 subscribed online databases.

Facilities

The Corner is also equipped with Apple Macintoshes, Apple Tablets, Video Conferencing System.

Programs

Various United States Embassy, Kuala Lumpur-sponsored activities and programs are organised and held every year. Among the most prominent and popular ones are Movie Under the Stars, Knowledge Camp, English Camp and cultural shows.
