Introduction

In line with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, Target 11.5: Reduce The Adverse Effects Of Natural Disasters, Basic Emergency Response and Preservation Skills (BERES) programme aims to provide exposure to the Department Records Officer (DRO) regarding basic techniques used to salvage records after a disaster, as well as to enhance understanding on the importance of rescuing vital records in government departments and agencies.

Objectives

1. To provide exposure to the Department Records Officer (DRO) regarding basic techniques used to salvage records after a disaster. 2. To enhance understanding on the importance of rescuing vital records in government departments and agencies.

BERES Emergency Kit

Starting 2024, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak will distribute BERES Emergency Kit to all the departments participated in BERES Programme. This kit aimed to assist participants in handling records after a disaster and this kit will equipped departments with preservation and handling equipment for records that have been affected by disaster and climate change.
