The digital collection represents digital surrogates for rare and significant materials on Sarawak. Apart from improving considerably the availability and usage of these materials, this digital project was initiated to create a Center of Excellence for research resources and works on Sarawak. As well as providing services to present day and future users, Pustaka is obliged to ensure that the precious originals are properly managed.
The Sarawakiana Collections in Pustaka exists to preserve and make available government publications, books and research materials in certain defined categories of Sarawakiana related materials for members of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak and scholarly communities. The materials will support the learning and research activities and provide a unique record of Sarawakiana. The collections include the Government Publications, Sarawakiana Dedicated Collections, Digitization Collections, Antique Collections, The Manuscripts Collections, and the Rare Books Collection. The emphasis on this collection will include, as far as it is reasonably possibly, all significant works of recorded knowledge (publications, manuscripts, other forms) in all applicable languages.
Since end of 1999, about 33 books have been digitized while a new batch of 11 titles is in the final process; 55 Digitized Paintings From Sarawak Local Artist; 72 Digitized paintings from UNIMAS ; 14 Born Digital Projects ; 40 Audiovisual of traditional music from 5 ethnic in Sarawak. The Bastin Collection forms part of the Sarawakiana. These materials, which are strictly for in-house use, only are now made available for the public via the World Wide Web.

E-newspaper collection is a collection of full-text Local and National newspaper articles drawn from a variety of sources including the Borneo Post, Utusan Sarawak, Sarawak Tribune, Malaysia Kini, Berita Harian, The Star and New Straits Times subject to issue related to Sarawak.
