Awang Yunos Awang Husain

Awang Yunos Awang Husain is a Malay who hails from Miri Division. He completed his upper secondary education at at Tun Datuk Patinggi Tuanku Haji Bujang College, Miri in 1989 . He went for his primary education at Sekolah Rendah Kerajaan Syed Othman and Sekolah Rendah Kerajaan Pujut Corner before going for his lower secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Kerajaan Dato Permaisuri, Miri.



With Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA)

He got his first job in 1990 as part time courier in Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA)

With Sarawak Shell Berhad (SSB)

In 1995, he got a offer from Sarawak Shell Berhad as a Technical Assistant in IT Planning Department.


With Pustaka Negeri Sarawak

In early 2001, he apply a post as Pembantu Perpustakaan at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak and got the post on November 2001. He start his job at Information Service Department in Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Kuching for 10 month. On September 2002, he back to Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri and start his carrier as Pembantu Perpustakaan in Information Service Department.

On 15 Mac 2005, he has transfer to Technical Service Department.

After 3 years in Technical Service Department, on January 2008, he has been transfer back to Information Service Department.
In 2003, he was among those involved in identifying and selecting an integrated archives management system for Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, which is also entrusted with the responsibility of being the Sarawak State Records Repository.

At present, he is heading the Knowledge Management Division Knowledge Management Division of the Sarawak State Library. He has revamped and restructured the knowledge management programs and initiatives since they were no longer effective and serving their purposes. With the strong support of the management, he has established three new programs for the identification, capture and sharing of knowledge. These new programs are:

He had co-authored and co-presented severaL papers at national and international conferences.

a) Transformasi Perkhidmatan Perpustakaan Melalui Lonjakan Profesionalisme Pustakawan. A paper presented at the Forum Kepustakawanan 2010, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
b) Marketing and Promoting Library and Information Services : the Sarawak Experience. A paper presented at the International Conference on Marketing, Promoting and KPI for Library and Information Centre Services, 2010, Malaysia.
c) Perkhidmatan Perpustakaan Kepada Golongan Khas di Pustaka Negeri Sarawak. A paper presented at the Seminar Perkhidmatan Perpustakaan Kepada Golongan Khas, 2010 Georgetown, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia.
d) Inovasi, Kreativiti dan Perpustakaan : Peluang dan Cabaran. A paper presented at Forum Kepustakawanan 2011, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
e) The Reading Habits Among Library Users in Rural and Urban Areas of Sarawak, Malaysia A paper presented at the Asian Conference on Society, Education and Technology 2016, Kobe, Japan.
f) Together we can do more: the Sarawak State Library experience in developing and implementing high impact reader development initiatives through collaboration. An abstract accepted by the 2017 International Conference on Library and Information Science, Sapporo, Japan.
