Knowledge camp

BACKGROUND

Knowledge camp is a program that introduces libraries and reading through leisure activities. This program is held annually by each Pustaka Negeri Sarawak’s library campuses. This program usually involves school children, teenagers and occasionally with adults and family. Campsites will often be designated by the library. Participants will spend the night in the tents they have set up. The activities provided are in the form of leisure but are filled with knowledge to benefit the participants. Among the activities that are often offered are community talks, library visits, storytelling, arts and crafts activities, science, and technology activities and many more in line with the camping theme.


OBJECTIVES

  1. to raise the awareness of participants in the service and facilities offered by Pustaka
  2. to give exposure towards the literacy skills of digital inclusivity of knowledge and information
  3. to also raise awareness on the importance of the culture of knowledge and lifelong learning
