Introduction
Archives Management Division, Depository Services Sector at State Records Repository (SRR) is responsible for handling reference service for public records and archives materials at Reference Service Counter, State Records Repository. Upon making an appointment, the representative from the Sarawak State Government department/agencies (Pegawai Rekod Jabatan & Pegawai Seranta Jabatan), researchers and members of the public (individual) can refer to the file/records and archives materials (25-year-old records).

Reference Service Process: Normal Operation Hour
1. User (departments/agencies, researchers and members of public (individual)) can make a searching for public records and archives materials via the following channels which is can be access through Pustaka Negeri Sarawak official website.
2. User (departments/agencies, researchers and members of public (individual)) can make a request to use public records and archives materials via the following channels:
- a) In person/walk in (for Pegawai Rekod Jabatan & Pegawai Seranta Jabatan only)
- b) Telephone
- c) E-mail
- d) Letter
- e) Whatsapp application
- f) Archival Records Management System (ARMS)
3. Once the public records or archives are retrieved from the Repository, the user:
- a) will be provided with reference tools i.e., gloves, pencil, magnifying glass, and apron (if needed) for the user
- b) only allowed to use one file at a time. Once the user returned the public records and archives, the next public records and archives can be given to the user.
4. For a user who is doing research before the reference service closing hour, the user shall return the materials ten (10) minutes before the closing hour to Reference Counter, SRR.
5. If the user still wants to refer the public records and archives the next day, the public records and archives shall be kept at the Transit Area in the locked cabinet at Reference Counter.
6. Following services is also provided at the Reference Counter, SRR for users:
- a) Photocopying service
- b) Productivitiy tools service (WPS)
- c) Internet
Standard Operating Procedure for Archives and Sarawakiana Reference Services at the State Records Repository (SRR) during the Movement Control Order (MCO, CMCO & RMCO)
1. This procedure covers the process of Reference for Archival Materials and Sarawakiana Collection at the State Records Repository (SRR).
2. Users are encouraged to use the online services through:

3. No face-to-face reference services are accepted at the State Records Repository.
4. Digital copies of the archives materials will be supplied within three (3) working days for Archival Records Management System (ARMS).
5. For a digital copy of the Sarawakiana Collection, users can make an application by fill in the Public Records, Archives, and Special Collection Request Form (https://www.pustaka-sarawak.com/document_uploaded/1554790122.pdf) and e-mail the form to statedepository@sarawak.gov.my or WhatsApp to 019-882 6966.
