Summary
This 267 pages book was written by 2 researchers who derived the writings on the researches in 6 major-on-land disasters in Malaysia which led either to Public or Royal Inquiries.
This book has 7 chapters which speak generally about the understanding of what is disaster in Chapter 1 to the future challenges in Chapter 7. The lists of tables and figures were also described in this book. A comparative study was made to the concept of disaster, inquiry process and inquiry management. To me, it is interesting to find out that all the disasters mentioned in this book, almost all of them were not sudden cataclysmic events but evolved in phases with long developmental period. This book is an easy book to read, no technical jargons which difficult to be understood and contained with well-researched information. It is a useful resource for everyone especially safety and disaster professionals, administrators which will help to reduce the likelihood of occurrences of disaster in the future.
