Bon Jovi is one of my all time favorite artists and reading this book gave me an insight of their journey together as a rock band.
There is a timeline of Bon Jovi since its formation in 1983 until the book was published in 2013. The band started with four guys from New Jersey - Jon Bon Jovi (Bongiovi), Richie Sambora, Tico Torres and David Bryan. Members come and go but these four stayed on.
In the book, the author chronicles the history and music of the band as well as look into Bon Jovi’s musical and social relevance to listeners back then and now, the remarkable ways the band has emerged as the expression and product of deep cultural needs and how it has made a lasting impact on the society, the music business, and American culture.
The band has been able to influence not only the music, film, and television industries but also the worlds of fashion, musical theater, art, philanthropy, and politics. Jon was appointed by President Barack Obama as White House Council for Community Solutions in 2012 because of his philanthropic effort (with the rest of the band members) – charitable works, outreach in anti-drug rallies, raising funds and giving back to the community.
The book also listed down the albums they had released with simple information of what each album is about.
My only comment is that the book needs more pictures or photographs.
