Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Holds Let`s Read Together for 10 Minutes Program

Kuching - In conjunction
with the World Book and Copyrights Day 2015, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak will organise
the Let`s Read Together For 10 Minutes program on Thursday, 23 April 2015 at
the Auditorium, Level 1, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak.


The Let`s Read Together For 10 Minutes program held nationwide for the second
time this year. It was first organized in 2014 and it is a step towards improving
the awareness of the community on the importance of reading.

In 2014, similar program was held for the first time with the cooperation and
participation of all members of the Council of Directors of Malaysian State
Public Libraries, Ministry of Education, State Education Department, the
National Library of Malaysia, State Secretary`s Office, Federal Secretary’s
Office, departments, government and non-government agencies, schools,
universities, private sectors, NGOs and members of the public.



About 2.5 million Malaysians from all walks of life have participated in the
event which was held simultaneously nationwide.

This year, all state public libraries will once again collaborating in
organising the Lets Read Together for 10 Minutes simultaneously on Thursday, 23
April 2015 at 10:00 am until 10:10 am.




On that day all participants regardless of what kind of work or activity
that they are doing will pause and read for 10 minutes simultaneously.

To show support towards the program, members of the public are encouraged to
send their picture(s) or photo (s) of themselves reading by posting to their Facebook,
Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #lanbaca2015.
