PUSTAKA MIRI ORGANIZES ‘BLOOD DONATION DRIVES’

Posted on 09 February 2022

MIRI -Sarawak State Library, Miri Campus has planned quarterly Blood Donation Drives with the first one scheduled on March 5.
The campaign is organised in collaboration with Sarawak Teachers' Union Miri Division and Miri Hospital’s Blood Bank and will be held in the foyer of Pustaka Miri from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.

“Organising blood donation campaign is not only a noble practice, it can also foster social responsibility by encouraging people to donate blood. It also aims to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood to save lives of others as well as instil the spirit of volunteerism,” said Corporate Management Officer Shirley Szebah Mambai.

Successful blood donors will be given snacks and gifts as a token of appreciation for their support. Various interesting activities will be organised as well in conjunction with the campaign, such as exhibitions, quizzes, Pustaka membership registration counters as well as sales of books published by Pustaka at special selling prices.
Each Pustaka member who registers on that day will receive an attractive souvenir.

“Therefore, do not miss this golden opportunity to participate in the activities held throughout the programme. Do come with friends and family to enliven the atmosphere of this campaign,” she added.

The planned dates for the other upcoming blood donation drives are may 14, August 20 and November 12.
