Posted on 19 September 2024

MIRI – Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri will organize Bejalai Storytellers program on this coming 24 and 25 September 2024, which will involve kindergarten and primary school children around Miri city, Niah, and Baram. This year, the program will feature international storytellers, Anna Manuel from Australia and Kak Budi Baik Budi from Indonesia. The program targets kindergarten and primary school children aged between 4 and 12 years old.
Apart from promoting library membership among children, the main objective of this program is to expose them to storytelling creativity, stimulate interest in reading, and build self-confidence and public speaking skills among children.
Six (6) kindergartens and primary schools around Miri have been identified and selected to participate in this program.
"We hope that through this program, children will understand the importance of continuing to explore, learn, and share their experiences with others," said Puan Dorithy Dela Lawrence, Head of the Community Engagement Services Division.
